Manuel Moreno Sánchez(1908-1993)

Politician and lawyer, affiliated to the Institutional Revolutionary
Activist for university autonomy (1929). Founder of the Partido Social Demócrata. President of the senate (1958-1964). Professor at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. In 1936 he was director of the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas and from 1936 to 1938 he was secretary of the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas.

Model and novelist. Second wife of Diego Rivera, model for Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and Juan Soriano.

Mardonio Magaña(1865-1947)

Sculptor. His principal techniques were wood and stone carving. He was discovered by Diego Rivera around 1920. His works have been exhibited in Mexico, the United States and Canada. He was a professor at the Escuela Central de Artes Plásticas at the Secretaría de Educación Pública. In 1940 he was part of the exhibition 20 Centuries of Mexican Art at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
