Francisco Díaz de León(1897-1975)
He was the director of the Escuela de Pintura al Aire Libre in Tlalpan from 1925 to 1932. He created the Taller de Grabado together with Carlos Alvarado Lang. He founded the Escuela de Artes del Libro, then the Escuela Nacional de Artes Gráficas, which he directed from 1938 to 1956. In 1934 he was the editorial coordinator of the Instituto de Bellas Artes. Together with Gabriel Fernández Ledesma he co-directed the Art Salon of the Secretaría de Educación Pública. He was the director of the Escuela Central de Artes Plásticas at the Universidad Nacional de México. From 1937 to 1940 he directed the magazine Mexican Art & Life. He was a founding member of the Seminario Mexicano de Cultura and of the Academia de Artes.
