Carolina Durieux(Nueva Orleans 1896-Baton Rouge 1989)
American painter and lithographer.
In 1926 she worked in Mexico City. The anthropologist Franz Blom introduced her to Diego Rivera, who reviewed her work and portrayed her. In 1929, René d’Harnoncourt organized her an exhibition at the Sonora News Company. She returned to Mexico in 1931, entered the Academy of San Carlos and studied with Emilio Amero. She developed the cliché-verre technique that also interested MAB.
She appeared in the Mexican Folkways magazine, vol. 4, no. 3, July-September 1928.
